A Close Look at Stages of Film-Making

Posted in: , ,

Film making and television production have close links to film studios, which are the birthplaces of movies. It is unthinkable for filmmakers to work on films and complete the production process without the involvement of film studios.

The film is a 30 minutes inspirational drama starring Wole Ojo, Adesua Etomi, Diana Yekini, Pat Mohie and Funmi Sobayo. The film is written, produced and directed by Dolapo Adeleke aka Lowladee. See synopsis and watch below...

The Family Legacy" - A Drama about Sickle Cell Disease

Posted in: , , , ,

After finding out that an NHS funded short film inspired Tunde Kelani to make The Dazzling Mirage, I decided to look it up, and I could see why. I've decided to share it with you all. According to the makers of The Family Legacy, it is a drama which explores the impact that the birth of a child with sickle cell disease has on four generations of the same family.

This is a Namibian short film shot in one single take. Written and directed by Florian Schott, and starring Chops Tshoopara, Muhindua Kaura, Joel Haikali, Lize Ehlers, David Ndjavera, Lynn Strydom, Armas Shivute, Norman Job. What makes this one stand out for me is that it's a mystery/thriller and the narrative style, you have to pay attention :)

Short Film - Blurred Lines

Posted in: ,

Afrinolly Competition has a couple of entries on female infidelity, and this is my choice of the two for the way it presents the theme. Blurred Lines is an apt title, playing on the sequencing of th movie as well as the story itself.

FIVE - Short Film

Posted in: , ,

Five is another short film entry in the Afrinolly competition. It is one of those stories you just never know how it'll go from how it begins. But when it clicks and you get it, you're like wow! I really loved this. If you do too, vote HERE.

Short Film - Big Man Via The Afrinolly Competition

Posted in: , , , ,

In Big Man, Uzoma loves playing games with his little brother, Chize, in spite of their father's warnings that being the older brother, he is a big man. One day, one of his simple games has serious consequences, and Uzoma has to come to terms with really being a Big Man. There are other interesting shorts on the Top 10, but this is my favorite, the acting, the setting, the direction, production, the sound, everything was on point. If you like it too, vote HERE, or check out the others too when you log in. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday...

Love Takes Two - A Short Film

Posted in: , ,

Love Takes Two is a very short film that captures the thin line between love and dysfunction quite accurately. At what point does pride and unforgiveness creepingly become a killer of your love? Do you know when to stoop to let love win? Enjoy :)

Short Film - Be My Guest

Posted in: , ,

A story of a loss, grief, forgiveness, letting go, and redeeming love. This is another LowlaDee short film production. OK, maybe the story seemed rushed, and the end a bit corny but otherwise, this is worthy of all praise. I actually preferred the new actors to the current Nollywood stars who have become so predictable. I might change Kevin though, I love hunks for my leading men, bite me :)

Vertical Challenges - A Short "DOCUMENTARY"

Posted in: , ,

I laughed so hard when I first saw this quasi documentary, some of you may have been wondering why the issue of my height came up in some of my earlier posts, it was this video, I watched it with Atala a few days ago. I was just nodding at some of the points raised by the main actor, who happened to be short too, and the comments on the Youtube page, hahaha...
tunuoyelola - It's not a real story? :( I was getting so carried away with the "Happily Ever After" ending, until the credits started to roll! LOL.

Kaffy Saibu - I love your story I'm 5'3 myself, and I hate it too. lol I wish I was taller "wishful thinking". but at least I'm taller than my mom lmao. And I love tall guys too...I only date tall guys, winks

Alyssa Darden - I love this! I'm short too.. just barely 5 "

TAYOR FARYEM - She likes tall guy!!!!!!!!!!!

Invisible Girl - Film Campaign Against Child Abuse

Posted in: , , , , , , ,

Invisible Girl is a non-commercial and online campaign short film (9minutes) narrative to reach out to young females especially for those who have once been or are currently victims of sexual violence or abuse. I recently finished Yejide Kilanko's new book, Daughters Who Walk This Path, and I was filled all over again with anger at adults who molest innocent children. I thought about how as a society, we really have to put up the means to protect our children before, and sometimes, after abuse happens.
